Air Abrasion Products Danville Engineering

PrepStartTM
PrepStart produces a flow of alpha alumina particles propelled by a controlled stream of compressed air. Capable of cutting precisely defined cavity preparations, the particle stream can be finely focused to gently micro-abrade the smallest of carious areas. Not only is more healthy tooth structure conserved, since PrepStart generates no heat or vibration, the likelihood of micro-fracturing and tooth chipping is reduced -- and anesthesia is seldom required.

AIR ABRASION, MICROETCHERS & ACCESSORIES

Microetcher IITM Intraoral Sandblaster
Provides a precise, reliable abrasive stream and is finger button controlled.  .048" or .032" tips are available, plus four different nozzle angle options.

Chairside bonding changed forever when we introduced the original Microetcher Intraoral Sandblaster, Precision micro-roughening with our new Microetcher II improves bond strength up to 400%. By increasing the surface area and simultaneously activation the surface, all mechanical bonding procedures are improved.

The new nozzle assembly can be rotated 360 degrees and is removable for autoclaving or  inter-changing.

  • Longer lasting porcelain repairs.
  • Fast and easy cement removal.
  • Ideal for orthodontic and other appliances.

Microetcher ERC
Increase bond strength by intraoral sandblasting.  It has long been recognized that in cementing two materials the bond strength is increased by roughening the material surface. The Model ERC is a precision micro sandblaster designed for use in the operatory. Applications include porcelain repair in the mouth, composite repair, adhesion of Maryland bridges, crown cementation, recementation and much more.

The Sand-Trap
Patented clear plastic device designed to confine aluminum oxide particles and remove them by suction during intraoral or chairside sandblasting.

Air Pressure Booster

Prime AirTMCompressor
Custom engineered for use with the MicroPrep and PrepStartTM, the Prime Air is a high performance oiless compressor. The Prime Air will support multiple MicroPreps with super clean, high pressure air. The Prime Air is very quiet and serves as a back-up house compressor. View image.

Pure AirTMAir Filter
Moisture accumulation filter used with Prime Air Compressor purges moisture from the system, providing clean, oil-free air to your equipment.

Power PlusTMAir Booster
Gives your existing in-house air a boost up to 135 PSI.  View Image
The new Power PlusTM Air Booster  is the cost effective solution for providing the air pressure required to operate your air abrasion system effectively. Many existing older model dental compressors are simply not powerful or consistent enough to insure the full range of operating capabilities of newer air abrasion systems. This results in slow cutting speeds and tip clogs, and limits performance greatly. With air pressure set at 100 PSI, cutting occurs nearly twice as fast as when set at 80 PSI. Ideally, up to 120 PSI is desired, and few dental compressors do this without modification.

Now you don't have to touch your compressor. The PowerPlus eliminates the need for a costly new compressor purchase or upgrade to generate more PSI. Effectively doubling your air pressure up to 120 PSI, Power Plus eliminates most compression issues. Installation can also be handled by your staff so there won't be any additional installation costs. If you're already using a MicroetcherTMII chairside, you have what you need to hook right up. PowerPlus won't interfere with the operation of your other handpieces, doesn't take any more counter space than the PrepStart and also offers the optional flexibility of an under-the-counter installation.

The PrepStartTM and PowerPlusTM Partnership. The new PowerPlus Air Booster now makes installation of your PrepStart Air Abrasion system even easier and gives your in house air a boost at the same time. The PowerPlus partnership with PrepStart is the  cost effective solution for providing optimal air pressure.  Ply it into any MicroetcherTM  or other air outlet that provides as little as 69 PSI and the Power Plus recompresses the air to 120 PSI. Just plug your PrepStart or other air abrasion system into PowerPlus and you're ready to go.   PowerPlus is available in two ways, as a companion unit as shown with the PrepStart or as a base component for installation in a cabinet. If no Microetcher outlet exists, the PowerPlus can be quick connected into an existing air line with the Easy Connect Kit. It's virtually maintenance free, requiring only cleaning of the outside housing as needed and quiet, compact and nonelectric.

MICROPROPHY AIR POLISHERS & ACCESSORIES

MICROETCHER, MICROPROPHY & MICROPREP INSTALLATION KITS

Microetcher and Microprophy Quick Disconnects
Quick Disconnect Installation. The Microetcher and Microprophy are designed to operate over a pressure range of 50 to 120 psi. Either can be installed using one of three options:

  • Quick Disconnect Kit: designed to be used in the operatory for chairside sandblasting. The kit consists of a female connection, a tee which is spliced into the line coming from the compressor before the pressure regulator (i.e., junction box or cart), and a separate male connection.
  • Lab Quick Disconnect Kit: In the laboratory there is generally an air line with 80 - 100 psi pressure. If an air jet (stopcock) is present, the Lab Quick Disconnect with its female connection is designed to be permanently installed on it. The male connection is installed on the end of the Microetcher tubing. With a female Quick Disconnect installed in the lab, and also in the operatory, the Microetcher can be used in both places.
  • Handpiece Adapter: If there is an extra handpiece line in the operatory which can be adjusted to 50 or more psi, the handpiece adapter can be installed on the end of the Microetcher tubing.
