How to Repair White Lines in Posterior Composites
Ceramic/Porcelain Primer White lines happen to everyone eventually. The problem is that
they turn into brown lines over time and can degrade a
restoration. This is how to repair them.
The first figure shows a posterior resin composite with white line
margins. The restoration is dried thoroughly. Interface is mixed
White Lines and then applied to the restorations and rubbed into the white
line until it disappears. Then the Interface is dried completely and
GONE! thoroughly. Surpass 2 is then applied and dried and then
Surpass 3 is applied and thinned out as much as possible and
light-cured. If the white line defect is large enough that an
opening is perceived, apply a little flowable composite to the area
and light-cure. Adjust occlusion if necessary. Figure 2 shows the
completed repair. The third figure shows the restoration at one
year recall. The repair has been successful.
